In keeping with our Open and Affirming covenant, the Community Outreach Team of the Packanack Community Church continues to bring an extravagant welcome to our community and beyond. COT is a dedicated group committed to putting God’s Love in Motion through educational and charitable endeavors. The COT hosts Coffee House Speaker Series on timely topics meant to inform and enlighten. In addition, the group sponsors charitable work to improve the lives of those in need.

Iftar Dinner

We hosted an Iftar dinner for the first night of Ramadan on March 15th with Peace Island Institute. This event was magical. We had close to 60 people in attendance.  We started in the Sanctuary with the Iman speaking about Ramadan and the importance of fasting. He then lead us into prayer. It was beautiful. And then we all headed into the Simmons for absolutely delicious feast. We sat and had conversations with our Muslim friends. An incredible evening was had by all in and we hope to continue this tradition.

Ziti Fundraiser

On April 14th, the Community Outreach group will put their pasta making skills to good use and made delicious ziti dinners for our community as well as for the Father English center.  This is our bi-annual fundraiser that helps Outreach to raise money to continue to do our work and be a support to those in need.

No Child Wet Behind

The Packanack Community Church Community Outreach holds an annual "No  Child Wet Behind" Diaper drive. We collect Diapers to support Ukrainian families and Father English Center. This is incredibly important fundraiser as we know it is hard to get diapers for some families.

Teacher's Appreciation Week - May 8th - 12th

The Outreach Team will prepare some cool gift bags for our PCNS teachers. We are so grateful for all they do. WE LOVE TEACHERS!

June (Pride Month)

The Outreach Team will be attending the 2nd Annual Wayne Pride Festival.  We will be there to support our LGBTQIA+ families and friends. This event is hosted by an organization called Wayne for Change and they have asked us to come and be part of it. We did this last year and had a blast. The Outreach Team encouraged people to write notes of support, love and solidarity to all those in need it the most especially now that we are seeing so many anti-trans/anti-LGBTQIA laws being passed. 

Food Drive

Our partnership food drive with the Packanack Scouts was a resounding success.

Dozens of cars pulled through our driveway filled with much needed food for those who are food insecure. Members of the Community Outreach Team and the Packanack Scouts worked to check dates, sort food, and bag. Many carloads of groceries were delivered to the WIN Food Pantry and to the Fr. English Food Bank that same afternoon.​​​​​​​
