   OUR FAITH COMMUNITY

Join our Family of Faith as we walk on God’s path together

Our congregation enjoys time together whether in worship, bible study, choir practice, pot luck dinners, community service or our annual church picnic.  Sisters in Faith and the Men’s Breakfast Group meet regularly for fellowship.

Our congregation pulls together in time of need and serves those in our community and beyond.  Besides the Community Outreach Team, the following programs continue year-round:

Wayne Interfaith Network Food Pantry

Our First-Sunday Food collections goes toward the WIN Food Pantry and distributed to families in need right here in Wayne.  Additionally, gift cards are donated throughout the year.   At Thanksgiving, WIN makes sure that all families can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal and each church is responsible for a different item.

"Angels Calling" Charitable Gift Program

For many years, our congregation provided Christmas presents for families-in-need, most of whom were residents of surrounding communities. Ever since Hurricanes Irene and Sandy hit our state, however, we have become much more aware of the critical need within our own town. We also don't want to wait until the Christmas season to make that assistance available. Instead, we have developed a relationship with the Director of Wayne Township's Department of Social Services as well as the school nurses in order to identify families that our congregation can assist while maintaining their confidentiality. For many of those families, our assistance continues throughout the year in the form of food store gift cards and other resources that we are able to make available to them.

  COMMUNITY OUTREACH TEAM

In keeping with our Open and Affirming covenant, the Community Outreach Team of the Packanack Community Church continues to bring an extravagant welcome to our community and beyond. COT is a dedicated group committed to putting God’s Love in Motion through educational and charitable endeavors. The COT hosts Coffee House Speaker Series on timely topics meant to inform and enlighten. In addition, the group sponsors charitable work to improve the lives of those in need.

  MEMORIAL GARDEN

The Packanack Community Church maintains a Memorial Garden for those who wish to memorialize their loved one(s) who have passed away.  This natural, sacred setting creates a quiet space for prayer and reflection amidst the hustle and bustle of today’s world.  Cremains of deceased loved ones may be interred or scattered and/or memorialized with a paver.  For information about the Memorial Garden, please contact the Office at 973-694-0608 or office@packanackchurch.org.
